These are books I’ve read and interesting places I’ve been.

Omg I love Bob Goff! His books and his outlook on life are just the best. In Everybody Always we're challenged to love people, even the difficult ones, without distinction and limits. Here you'll find endearing stories that move you to see the beauty all around us.

By far, one of the best (and easiest) business book reads by the original Don Draper of real Madison Avenue. George Lois, I have mad respect for you.

Amy Poehler, this book is just one of the BEST. You made me love and understand SNL and Parks & Rec even better. And inspired me to ask my mother about my own birth story. How cool is that.

This is not your ABC Network FOTB - this is the real memoir. Unfiltered and a little bit more true to life. The story of a young asian boy who eventually became the Eddie Huang that we know today.

This is probably one of the most fascinating books I've ever read. It's part statistics, part comedy, and part social experiment. And I love it. One of my favorite reads so far.

I love learning about people who just get stuff done. Ahem, get SH*T done. And well, Miki Agrawal is one of those people. She's definitely a go-getter. I spent half the time legitimately researching the things she did or jotting down notes on how to practically do it myself. Sometimes going after your goals/dreams/passions/wants/etc doesn't have to be so damn scary. Just go do it. Who knows, maybe it'll be pretty cool.

Being an artist is partly just stealing from others and being inspired to create your own. Thanks Austin Kleon for encouraging me in my thievery.

Dude. A lot of people should read this book because too many people give too much f*cks for no good reason. Everyone needs to chill. It really is quite an art to do this though.

Judd Apatow interviewed some of the greatest comedy geniuses while he was still in high school. It's so crazy! I love comedy and I love that he did this.

I've been a fan of Anna Kendrick ever since she sang her way into our hearts in Pitch Perfect. I think I identify with the fact that she packs quite a punch in her petite size. That's why I wanted to read her memoir. Not my favorite one but it was still pretty interesting.

This is probably one of my most favorite collection of short stories. BJ Novak is a GREAT writer and he does an amazing job adding humor, insight, creativity, and subtle callbacks to his storytelling.

This one was recommended me by a friend in which I wrote the title down on a scrap piece of paper. It then served as an awesome reminder that I am, in fact, a badass. It's a great read for punching fear and insecurity in the face and tapping into the greatness we all have inside.

This book was way too thick to actually read. It's a good thing that Tim Ferriss encourages just cherry picking its content - which is exactly what I did.

All about that side hustle life. You know how it is. This is actually the second Chris Guillebeau book that I've read. Gotta keep the mind sharp when it comes to biz life. I'll take what I can.

I've read three other Jon Acuff books before this one. I thought it was an interesting read, especially after having followed him through discovering, landing, and losing a dream job. He literally inspires us to DO OVER.

The Duplass brothers! Man, it's gotta be cool to be best friends with your sibling. And to like do life together and create stuff and build a film career together. I love that. Gimme more of that.

A memoir written by our beloved fallen princess. I found it to be very enlightening and quite funny. That Carrie Fisher. She's hilarious. I really need a Star Wars Marathon asap.

Omg so I totally read this book when a friend of mine recommended it to me. I'm not too big on the dating scene although after having read this, I made myself go out and about to meet people. Which eventually led to the world of dating apps. It's hard to meet people when you're a freelancer! Anyway, this book is a great resource for any Christian single. Especially those who had to deal with the repercussions of I Kissed Dating Goodbye (which he reneged by the way!).

Gary Vee is one of the most legit biz/marketing gurus out there. The man loves his Jets, knows his wine, calls people out on their BS, and will always help young entrepreneurs go out there and kill it.

I know these two personally and they are wonderfully encouraging and brave people. Their story is a hard one to read but it does nothing but point you to the real hope of Jesus Christ. And in that He brings new life.

The second installation from the "You Are A Badass" series. This time it's about one of my favorite subjects - finance. Who knew? You can be creative and like money management? And be a badass? Yes please!

From young photo assistant to Barney's fashion director, this book recounts the life and fashion career of Amanda Brooks. Lessons learned, highs and lows, and how she eventually became a style icon and major influencer.

I love that Judah Smith always references the Seattle Seahawks in his books. Mixed in with the very important theme of digging deeper than just asking "how are you?" but "how's your soul?" I need people to ask me that more often.

I read this book because my friend Lisi recommended it to me. You know who else recommended it? Justin Bieber. If the Biebs is all about, it's gotta be good right? Well, it's a thick read. Kind of like a text book for a class we should all take as some sort of life requirement. But yeah, super thick read. Don't say I didn't warn you.

This book. Man, it wrecks your heart. But it also pushes you to see things through fierce, mountain-moving, lion eyes past all the pain and hurt to see a good God. One that brings comfort and joy through the heartache.

The sequel to Pete Grieg's "Red Moon Rising" (my all time favorite book). It follows the aftermath of the 24/7 prayer movement and how to stay on mission when all the excitement dies down.

I've read two other Donald Miller books before this one (A Million Miles is my favorite) but this one is unique because it's right after he got married. It brings a whole new perspective to his writing and I like it.

Alexa Chung has always been one of my style icons. I loved browsing through the photos in this book but the eye on the cover freaks me out. Just a little bit. But she's still pretty cool.

So I've ordered shoes from Zappos before but this book taught me about their company culture, making me like them even more. They're an amazing and generous company. You guys, Zappos is the BEST.

The sophomore title from FOTB's Eddie Huang. All grown up and running Baohaus with his bro and introducing China to his soon-to-be fiancé.

Hot Ben Corns gave me this book before he moved back to the motherland. I read it. Learned about vulnerability. Then sold the book on Amazon for like $15. Total win.

This one was a business book rec that I found somewhere. It has that business parable thing going on. Kind of like that "Greatest Salesman in the World" book but is still a super easy read.

I've always been fascinated by stories of boss lady entrepreneurs making waves in the business world. But this one in particular has spunk, tenacity, a sense of nastygal if you nome sane. She's boss yo.

I've been a fan of Dave Ramsey forever but when his daughter hit the scene, it was the best. She's AWESOME. Her stories are great and their combined heart for financial freedom is the best. I'm a fan of this book, it's definitely a 1-2 punch.

Oh the fine, fine balance between work and rest. This is legit stuff yo. And I'm super thankful that rest is meant to be in our weekly rhythms. 6-and-1.

Another humorous collection of essays from Mindy Kaling on how to be a starlette, what to bring to the dinner party she's hosting, and what it's like be a vampire (an actor + a writer), I especially likes when she talks about her friendship with BJ Novak and her mentor Greg Daniels.

I picked this book up because both my pastor via Instagram and a woman next to me on a flight recommended it. Apparently we take in a gazillion things everyday and there's just too much stuff out there vying for our attention. We gotta whittle it down to the essentials.

Woah - let me just say, this book did a great paradigm shift of the classic David + Goliath story. And some of these giants that we tackled together in this book seriously resonated with me during the season that I read it. God either has a great sense of humor or His timing is just ridiculous on point.

Because of my whole "go out and meet people" phase, I attended a friend's album launch last summer. The outdoor concert was such a dream. One of the accompanying acts was Gungor, a worship duo that I've known for years but hadn't kept up with. But with my rekindled interest in their music and lives, I realized that they had stepped away from their faith. And honestly, it really rocked me. And so I picked up this book in order to understand it more. And I listened to a couple podcasts. It's deep yo. Faith is a hard thing. This world is a hard place. We need each other. And we need God.

One of my favorite biz books is REWORK by 37 Signals founder, Jason Fried. So when I stumbled upon this book at a local thrift store, I had to buy it. I'm like "yeah, I work from home. I work remotely. Technically I can work anywhere my computer and camera takes me so this book is super relevant to me." It was a pretty good read. But I think REWORK is better. I do have to say that both books have amazing illustrations by Mike Rohde and he's one of my favorite artists.
